After you have set up locations, you can setup camera positions within the location. To do this, click on the “Add New Position” button which appears on the right-hand-side of the location page. This will create a camera position on the website and associate it with that location. As with the monitoring location, you fill out a series of fields describing the camera position, including the name, when it was established, where it was established and a few other details. Once you have completed the form, don’t forget to click “Save”.
Once you have established a camera position, you can add observations and other types of data, as shown in the menu. For example, if you click “Add Camera Deployment Time”, you can provide start and end points for camera trap sampling, which can be used later to express animal occurrence and activity in terms of sampling time, for example, number of Species X per day or week.
